Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming in Agriculture for Food Safety

SNV

On 6-8 November 2018, the Gender and Water Alliance-Bangladesh (GWA-B) conducted a workshop on "Gender Mainstreaming in Agriculture for Food Safety". The workshop was held at Ashari, Rajshahi to mainstream gender issues in the EU Switch-Asia project in Bangladesh. A total of 24 participants attended the workshop from SNV, agro-processing companies, and partner organisations.

This workshop was planned after the field study and gender assessment that GWA-B had carried out in Rajshahi and Natore. The aim of the assessment was to understand land rights of women and men, and the gender division of work in mango and tomato cultivation. Finally, the study recommended improvements in gender mainstreaming in the project.
