SNV Vietnam joins the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance

SNV Vietnam joins the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance

SNV became a member of Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance (VSEA) as of July 2015.

VSEA, formerly called the Energy Alliance, was established in 2012 by five NGOs including Green Innovation and Development Centre (GreenID), Center for Water Resources Management and Climate Change Adaptation (Cewarec), Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC), WWF-Vietnam, Sustainable Energy (SE) and  Live & Learn for Environment and Community (Live&Learn) as core members in early 2013. VSEA Core Group recently comprises four members including GreenID, CEWAREC, Live&Learn and WWF.

VSEA seeks to promote sustainable energy development in Vietnam and Mekong region by promoting an inclusive energy policy making process, introducing sustainable alternative energy solutions for the benefit of local communities and advocating for sustainable energy policies. VSEA fosters the cooperation between Vietnamese and international NGOs as well as different non-state actors working to promote sustainable energy policies in Vietnam and the Mekong region. VSEA has small but strong committed organizational members and is gradually expanding its cooperation with other relevant stakeholders and existing networks.

As a member of the VSEA, SNV is entitled to various benefits and responsibilities, such as providing inputs into VSEA strategies and action programmes; sharing information and experiences related to energy via different information channels and communication documents of VSEA.
