About the project
BRIDGE+ is implemented by a consortium of SNV, Agriterra and WUR, with SNV as lead organisation. The objective of BRIDGE+ is to support dairy sector transformation by improving the income of dairy producers and contributing to a dairy value chain that creates inclusive and sustainable benefits for smallholder farmers, commercial farmers, processors, service providers and wider society. The project components include Extension, input market, Market linkage, food safety, Nutrion, Professionalization, policy and partnership, Research & Development, Monitoring & Evaluation, GESI, Youth employment and Climate change.
The project is implemented in 10 Regions. In Addis Ababa, BRIDGE+ operates across 11 sub cities. with partners and key stakeholders.
The project has planned to engage a junior consultant to support the project in facilitating data collection from service providers & entry, assessments, meetings, trainings, workshops and other operational activities.
Job Description
Scope of the assignment
- Provide guidance and coaching support to service providers on data collection tools, farm advise and production data recording
- Collect monthly extension and Agro- input dealer data from service providers and enter it into the Log Alto
- Provide coaching and follow-up support to Agro -input dealers, including on business management, product diversification and grant documentation
- Support biogas technology promotion, bio-slurry market linkages, and the city-level school feeding study with faith-based organisations
- Facilitate capacity development services for smallholder and commercial dairy farmers, Agro-input dealers and small-scale dairy processors
- Support milk quality inspectors technical training, forage seed agronomic practice training, Agro -input dealer exhibitions, project workshops, meetings and field events.
- Assist Exhibition for Agro input dealers in supporting B2B linkage among input suppliers, AgIDs, feed processors and dairy producers
- Assist the Regional Manager with pilot implementation of THM tool in GESI and the documentation of learning cases
- Support payment follow-up and scheduling in coordination with the finance team, without approving payments or changing contractual conditions.
Qualifications
- BA degree in management or related discipline
- At least two years experience in project implementation facilitation
- Experience working in dairy-sector project or related agricultural development programme
- Hands-on experience with mobile data collection platforms such as Kobo Toolbox and project data systems such as LogAlto
- Experience working with urban and peri-urban agriculture is highly desirable
