Analysis of Supply Chain Studies for Home Grown School Feeding

snv

The PG-HGSF project recently published the second installment of its learning series, entitled, “Analysis of Supply Chain Studies for Home Grown School Feeding”. This learning document was written by Woody Maijers and Vijayender Reddy Nalla, both value chain experts and professors at the InHolland University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with SNV staff.

Our second learning document analyses current supply chains used for school feeding programmes in Ghana, Kenya and Mali. The document highlights the supply chain structures in the project countries, the implementation of school feeding programmes and their differences in the countries, the supply chain actors and their roles, the compatibility of school feeding demand and smallholder farmer supply, and also provides some suggestions on interventions that can better promote smallholder farmer inclusion in the school feeding supply chain.
