The overall goal of the Payment for Environmental Services (PES) project is to develop and operationalise PES demonstration models that would contribute to the development of an informed PES policy framework, which is fully integrated with REDD+.

Such an integrated PES policy framework, informed by working models, provides a supportive enabling environment for the promotion of an increased number of different types of viable PES schemes, which contribute to natural resources stewardship, ecosystem-based climate change mitigation and adaptation, poverty reduction and watershed management.

SNV brings in knowledge and capacity building tools to enhance capacity of stakeholders and community groups to develop and operationalize mutually beneficial PES schemes, through development of PES models, relevant training courses, training materials, guidelines, leaflets, project briefs, exchange programmes and policy discussions.
