EnerSur (part of the GDF SUEZ group) is a leader in the market dedicated to private power generation and transmission in Peru. The new Hydroelectric Quitaracsa I project in Ancash is being carried out as part of the company's Social Responsibility Program - Hydroelectric Yuncán from 2014 to 2016. The project seeks to develop a comprehensive model of local management with an inclusive business approach to sustainably increase the income and livelihoods of the people of Paucartambo, Quiparacra Huachón.

A diagnosis was done to validate and prioritize the productive potential, information was gathered on the main motivators of communities, and the demand and supply workings of the productive chains were studied. Based on a market approach, the company sought to link up with other interested parties in the area to help providers implement inclusive business models. Producers were trained and assisted to meet market standards, programs were created with cooperation mechanisms among the project beneficiaries, the anchor companies and other partners identified for family and community development. There was also an evaluation and monitoring component to quantify the socio-economic impact achieved by the project, and to ensure timely decisions to further the initiative.
