SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995 and currently has over 70 national and international experts. SNV Vietnam implements projects in more than 50 provinces across the country, including the poorest and most remote areas.

The SNV Energy Team will be engaging in a range of communication activities to support its portfolio of projects, and for this reason is seeking a communications intern to work closely with the project teams.

Objective

The Communications Intern will work closely with the Communications Officer to support the Energy Sector team in enhancing project visibility, stakeholder engagement, and outreach effectiveness. By creating high-quality content, maintaining consistent branding, and leveraging communication channels, the intern will help amplify project impacts and build public awareness of sustainable energy practices in Vietnam.

Job Description

Content Creation and Management

  • Assist in developing communication materials such as press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media content.
  • Support the design of visuals, infographics, and presentations for project events and reporting.
  • Coordinate with the team to maintain an organized library of photos, videos, and other media assets.

Event Communication Support

  • Support the preparation and implementation of communication activities for project events, including workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist in developing event-specific communication materials (e.g., banners, brochures, handouts).

Social Media and Online Presence

  • Collaborate with the communication team to manage social media platforms, ensuring consistent and impactful project representation.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of social media posts and website updates.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Assist in engaging project stakeholders through targeted communication plans.
  • Support in drafting emails, newsletters, and other communication to maintain active stakeholder participation.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in coordinating with external service providers for communication needs (e.g., designers, printers).
  • Provide administrative support related to communication tasks as required.

Qualifications

- Education: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields.

- Skills:

  • Strong writing and editing skills in both English and Vietnamese.
  • Proficiency in using design and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools.

- Experience: Prior experience in communication roles (e.g., internships, freelance, or volunteer work) is preferred but not required.

- Other: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Passion for sustainable development and energy efficiency is a plus.

Additional Information

  • Duty Station: Hanoi, Vietnam
  • Reports to: Energy Sector Leader
  • Duration: March 2025 – September 2025 (6 months full-time, with possibility of extension)
  • Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Travel: Travel within Vietnam is expected
