Young Filmmakers in Development Sector
Bangladesh's youth accounts for one third of the country's population, with a large proportion of young people becoming increasingly active in community development efforts. We believe that investing in youth is a smart investment as they are the ones who will move the country forward.
With this project, we encourage young minds to incorporate fresh, innovative and creative ideas into film making for the development sector. The programme is youth-led, with students having the opportunity to be involved from beginning to end, design the marketing materials and organise events around the programme.
After being launched as a pilot project in March 2015, the programme started to quickly scale up. Dhaka Tribune and Ekattor Television covered the programme multiple times. Soon after, the Media Advisor of Bangladesh's Prime Minister claimed: “We are glad that our development sector is engaging youth and giving them the opportunity to not only learn but also create something that will add value to the sector and to their future.”
