Action plan to implement technical assistance to the Departmental Autonomous Governments (GADs) of Chuquisaca, Cochabamba, Potosí and Tarija, during 2014-2018, through SNV in Bolivia.
Since 2007 Bolivia has been promoting integrated water resource management, with a focus on watershed management and climate change adaptation within its National Watershed Policy (NWP). Led by Bolivia’s autonomous governments (Gobierno Autónomo Departamental, GAD), the state receives technical and financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) (1) to help facilitate NWP implementation.
Part of SDC’s support includes financing the technical assistance that SNV in Bolivia provides to the autonomous governments. Within the government’s PFI framework: Programa de Fortalecimiento a la Gestión Autónoma Departamental de Políticas Públicas (SDAMPP, Strengthening the Departmental Autonomous Management of Public Policies), SNV strengthens governance and public policies for the productive use and sustainable management of natural resources in Cochabamba, Potosí, Tarija and Chuquisaca; priority areas found along the basin.
SNV in Bolivia strengthens the capacity of the four autonomous governments to create an enabling environment where there is heightened availability, quality, access, efficiency and equity in the population’s water use.

1 In Spanish, the SDC is also known as COSUDE (Agencia Suiza para la Cooperación)
