SNV has been active in Myanmar since 2016, tailoring global solutions in agriculture and energy to the local context and addressing people’s basic needs.

Our current advisory work in Myanmar focuses on developing strong agricultural value chains and enhancing access to energy for productive purposes. A productive and profitable agriculture sector is critical for long-isolated Myanmar to achieve food security, increase incomes and lift people out of poverty. Across all our areas of work governance, gender equity and social inclusion are deeply ingrained in our approaches. We are equally passionate about improving people’s access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and access to energy for households. SNV’s current work takes place in Kayin State and the Central Dry Zone.
